A friend that lives in a "Groundhog Day".

A story about how my friend broke free from Groundhog Day: A journey to a new life.

We all have this person in our life...

That, for some reason when we see him after a few years.

It feels like nothing has changed in his life...

... Everything is exactly the same.

  • Debts

  • Health issues

  • Relationship problems

It doesn't matter what the issue is. He is stuck forever in the loop, and nothing can help him — like the guy from the Groundhog Day movie. It's like a curse.

In this email, I want to share with you a concept that you will never be in such kind of place.

A place where you are trying your best, but for some reason, the reality stays the same.

A friend that stuck in an endless loop of life.

I have an old friend that I have known for years.

He was stuck in a toxic relationship and had endless debts in his business.

He gained weight, and his mental health was at breaking point.

He was a great guy... But for some reason, things just didn’t work his way.

One time per month, we saw each other for a coffee, and the conversation was going more or less in the same direction.

Problems and issues about:

  • Ex-wife

  • Debts

  • Health

There was no hope for a change in the air.

Some people would say it's a Karma thing as the reality of his life looked the same for 5-7 years... I don’t know.

I supported him as much as I could. But in the end, life goes on. I moved to another country, and we didn't see each other for more than a year.

The next time when I saw him I couldn't recognize him.

The first words that came to my mind when I saw him was "Wow".

He was in great physical shape, and his energetic vibe was totally different…

I asked him: “Albert, What happened to you? I can’t recognize you.

He couldn't give me a logical reason why suddenly his life started to become better.

He said that going to a gym every day became his new therapy.

He shared that also his business is doing much better.

Relationship was still a challenge for him but the way how he was talking about it was different.

I was so happy for him.

But the question that I couldn't answer myself then is what exactly pushed him to decide to start going to a gym.

Today, after studying Ontological coaching, I know that the change begins with a shift in our awareness.

It's not just changing our actions.

It's about transforming our perspective about ourselves.

Knowing the beliefs that hold us back.

My friend's transformation wasn't just about going to the gym; it was about the decision to break free from pain and hard life.

Breaking free and creating a new relationship with yourself.

And then with the world around you.

The truth is… If we don't change inside. The outside loop of life will continue to control us.

For my friend, the gym became a physical expression of his desire for change.

But the real transformation occurred deep within his mindset before he put on sports shoes for the first time.

As a coach using Ontological coaching and the Lefkoe method, I've seen how identifying and eliminating limiting beliefs can free people from their loop of life.

My friend might not have consciously used coaching methods, but his actions align with the principles of changing one’s internal narrative.

The key takeaway here, the concept is that anyone can be stuck in a loop, but we also have the power to initiate change.

It starts with:

  • A shift in our awareness.

  • Recognizing the loops we are living by.

  • Understanding the beliefs that hold us back.

  • And taking actionable steps towards freedom.

This transformation doesn't happen overnight, and it's often more about small, consistent changes — baby steps.

It's about the everyday choices that gradually align more with who we want to become rather than who we used to be.

So…

If you’d like to make a change.

Consider going through some coaching with me.
