Case study: 7267 email list with 35% open rate for €0,27 per subscriber.

I'm a partner in a Twitter (x) ads boutique agency. We can be highly efficient for anyone with a product/service who wants to build his own email list community without spending significant amounts on advertising.

Our unique methods bring the advertising costs to a place where you get back 70-80% of your ads spent money in the same month.

Which newsletter platform did I use?

In my case, to collect and manage my email list, I used the Beehiiv platform, which I definitely recommend checking out. One of the advantages of Beehiiv is the option to publish your newsletter in a website version.

In that case, any email you send can become evergreen content that will work long-term for your business, unlike a regular newsletter that "disappears" from the inbox after a few hours.

I didn't use any landing page in my campaign, and I sent traffic from Twitter ads to my content immediately. But if the user would like to read, he must be a subscriber. It looked like this:

In total, I invested €3615 on Twitter ads.

As you can see, 892 users have unsubscribed already. It's because I sent emails every day in the first week, and also, I have automatic cleaning automation that unsubscribes anyone who doesn't open any email for 30 days.

How much of the advertising costs I covered?

The method that we are using in our Twitter (x) ads agency to reduce advertising costs brought in a total of €1630.

I'm sure some people will be skeptical about the quality of the list itself. I was also skeptical at the beginning…

As you can see here, in most of our campaigns, we targeted only Tier 1 countries:

What about the list engagement?

The open rate of the list has been great from the first day, 35%+ open rate.

The click rate isn't high in my newsletter, as I'm not adding URLs at the beginning of the content. The open rate stays high even after one month. 33%+ on average.

Let's summarize:

  • Investment in Twitter ads: €3615

  • Our method earnings: €1630 (after Stripe fee).

  • Beehiiv subscribers amount: 7267 

  • Investment minus our method earnings: €1986 

1986/7267 = €0,27 per subscriber
