How to get things done and achieve real progress?

Hey,
It's Alex.
We all want to get things done.
As much as we can.
And when we finish everything?
We add more and more… There’s no end to it.
But do the things we do actually affect our progress?
Or is it just an imitation of productivity - being constantly busy?
This imitation of being productive can be so exhausting…
This is how you know if you’re truly effective:
If you look back on your last 10 years…
You can recognize the dots - specific events that created the life you have today. (Famous idea from Steve Jobs.)
These dots are:
Some bold brave actions you took.
Some specific decisions that you took.
Or… some tragic life situations.
What about these dots?
These dots, these events, represent progress in your life.
The big question is:
How to have more dots and progress that you actually want?
First:
And I’ve mentioned it many times in my emails.
Know what you want. Know which kind of business, relationship, and lifestyle makes you happy.
When you know what you want, you have a better chance to make the right decisions for you.
Second:
Know your values.
When you know your values, they act like a life map that helps you navigate what is yours in this world and what is a distraction.
But…
Value isn’t something that you think you have.
It’s something you’re already living by today.
If you say that you value time with friends but you mostly spend time alone, you value time by being alone.
Your real values are represented in your daily life.
Everything else is just an idea about values that you had or maybe you will have them in the future.
And third and the most important:
In order to have more of the dots you want - focus on actions that affect your progress.
What is it in your day that you do that affects your progress the most?
Most of the time, it will be the things that you:
Procrastinate
Overthink
Afraid of
And… It takes you a big amount of energy to start doing.
But the tricky thing is…
These are the things that affect your future the most.
These are the things that if you do more of them…
When you will look back 5 years from now:
You will have more dots that you could point to and say: “This is what made my life better.”
For some people, it’s starting to run.
For others, it’s to start their own business.
And for someone, it’s to move to a new place.
You will have more progress when you dare to do more of the things that you’re actually avoiding.
Can you point out what you are avoiding that can be a big progress for you?
Imagine if…
From today until the end of the year, you will focus on the “dot actions” you are avoiding.
Imagine if you would take “dot actions” day by day.
How would your life look after that?
But to get to this state of action…
To get to this mental state alone isn’t easy at all.
This is why people take coaches by their side.
To help them bring out the best in themselves.
To help to focus on the dot actions and eliminate all the distractions around.
So you could look back 5 years from now and have this amazing feeling of being proud of yourself.
That you didn’t give up on the most important thing in the world: yourself.
