How to notice your brilliant ideas?

We have thousands of thoughts during the day... Most of them we don't notice... ...And they just fade away. For sure, some of them can be effective and brilliant for your goals. This is how you learn to catch them:

Hey,

It's Alex.

We have thousands of thoughts during the day…

Most of them we don't notice…

…And they just fade away.

Some of them can definitely be effective and brilliant for your goals.

This is how you learn to catch them:

My evening shower routine... Or why I sing in the shower?

I sing because it makes my partner laugh.

Especially when I sing her song...

I didn't know before that this tiny habit can actually increase ideas generations in our brains.

Ideas?

From singing?

It's not the singing.

It's the emotional and physical state that I'm in.

According to neuroscience:

(Don't fall asleep, I'll make it fast today)

In order to have a better chance of having a brilliant idea, we should be in a specific state.

This state has the following conditions:

  • We should be in a good mood.

  • Not feeling any kind of threat (not to be stressed).

  • Not to think about new ideas in a direct way.

This is why most brilliant ideas feel like they're dropping on us from the sky —out of the blue.

In fact, they're not coming from the sky.

Your subconscious was "working" on these ideas behind your conscious mind.

And when you're calm, in a good mood, and not trying directly to solve some big problem or force yourself to come up with ideas, they come naturally.

How can you have more brilliant ideas?

First, the basics: healthy sleep & diet.

Without these, your brain will not have the basic physical conditions for ideas. It would be more focused on survival.

Second, create rituals in your daily/weekly schedule where you can be:

  • Calm

  • In a good mood

  • Doing something not directly related to your work or problem.

I sing in the shower.

You can do your thing.

Important part:

Having a healthy relationship with new information plays a big part in having space for ideas.

If you find yourself consuming a large chunk of:

  • News

  • Movies & serials.

  • Social media content.

  • Or… Heavy communication with others.

Your brain would need time to analyze and reflect on all this information.

A big part of this happens when we sleep.

But in general...

Today, it's easy to get to a place where you feel foggy.

Unfocused and overwhelmed despite the fact that nothing special is happening in your day.

This can happen because of too much info consumption.

In this state, it's hard to facilitate new, sharp ideas.

Because there is no “brain space” for them.
