What to do when there is no desire to get up from bed?
Most people will experience this in their lives. A crisis that will push them to a place where there is no desire to stand up and start the day. I have been in that place several times in my life. This feeling... When you wake up, and there is no physical or emotional energy to put your feet on the floor.
Most people will experience this in their lives.
A crisis that will push them to a place where there is no desire to stand up and start the day.
I have been in that place several times in my life. This feeling... When you wake up, and there is no physical or emotional energy to put your feet on the floor.
You can sleep for 12 hours and still be tired. And the thought on the mind when you are supposed to start your day is: "What's the point?"
There are many emotions during this time — shame, guilt, sadness.
Each person has their unique reason and circumstances for being there. In this dark place of unclarity and desperation.
It's important to remember that it doesn't matter what you feel. It's okay to feel that.
If you are reading this, you are looking for a solution, and it's amazing. You are taking responsibility, and you want to feel better.
I'm not a therapist. I'm talking from my own experience and a coach's perspective. What I'm sharing is not a replacement for therapy or any other treatment. Keep that in mind.
When you are in that dark place, I suggest you ask yourself a simple question:
What do you want?
It's not important why and how you got to the point of being in this crisis. What is essential is to go deeply inside of yourself and to listen. Again... What do you want?
How should your life change so that this reality will never happen again?
What is it? Your job? Your relationship?
What in your reality becomes so painful and hard that there is no desire anymore to exist?
Can you remember times of happiness in your life?
What was different?
I know that it's hard. But you deserve to wake up in the morning and enjoy your day. And no. Money will not solve everything. Dozens of people with money feel miserable inside.
Money brings comfort, safety, and stability. But it can't give you a desire to live.
Choose a person for your story.
There was a time in my life when this simple tip saved me. Choose a person that you are willing to share your story. To open up and say everything as it is.
Ask this person not to interrupt you. Not to give his opinion. Just to listen and be as emphatic as he can. The best is face-to-face if it's impossible, at least online.
Download my free burnout guide.
Download it and answer all the questions. It will give you more clarity on what can bring you joy. This can be the first step to start a tiny change in your reality. You can do it »here«.
Other suggestions that you can easily find online are the second and third steps. I'm talking about meditations, cold showers, exercises.
All these are great suggestions to improve our well-being in general. But there is no point in talking about them if there is no energy even to start a day.
First, emotional support and some writing work with a burnout guide.

P.S. Do me a favor. Send this to anyone you know who is struggling and needs support.
Take care,
